Sarianna Duo presents a concert at 7:30 pm in the Performance Hall and streaming. Sarita Uranovksy and Anna Griffis return to Brookhaven with an evening of duos for violin and viola. The program is bookended by the beloved Mozart Duo in B-flat Major (1783) and Martinů’s Three Madrigals (1947). These larger works are joined together by Aure (2011), by Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho, Sibelius’s touching Duo in C (1891), Sonata No. 1 for Two Violins (1800) by 18th century Guadeloupean composer Chevalier de Saint-Georges, and the world premiere of John McDonald’s Duo for Violin and Viola, commissioned by Sarianna.
