The bus departs at 10:00 am for a trip to the Concord Museum to see the 27th Annual Family Trees: A Celebration of Children’s Literature. Concord’s literary legacy is given a creative twist as 34 trees and wreaths of all shapes and sizes are decorated with charm and inspiration from acclaimed children’s books. Award-winning author and naturalist, Sy Montgomery, serves as the Honorary Chair of the 27th Annual Family Trees: A Celebration of Children’s Literature. Her recently published children’s book Becoming a Good Creature is featured in this year’s celebration. One of the most celebrated writers of our time, Sy has been awarded the Children’s Book Guild Nonfiction Award for her contributions to children’s literature and has been a finalist for the National Book Award and an international bestseller for her work in adult nonfiction. After the museum, we will head to the Colonial Inn for lunch. Approximate return: 3:00 pm. Fee: $18 for transportation and admission plus the cost of your lunch choice.
