The AHA! Lecture series presents resident Cy Hopkins on When Things Go Wrong: Responding to Adverse Events at 11:00 am in the Performance Hall and streaming. “During my 50 years as a physician at the Massachusetts General Hospital the world changed, and so did the world of Medicine. Among the changes in Medicine was the recognition that errors in Medicine were an important problem, and they began to be thought of in a new way. The field of “Patient Safety” emerged, and with it the hope that its insights could improve the study of and response to medical errors, and would result in an improvement in health care. Some of the ideas and principles of this movement may be useful and interesting for many who are “consumers” of health care now.”
