Art Matters will be held at 11:00 am on Zoom. Topic: Western Civilization Sculpture – Part 1, Ancient to 1900. Sculpture is the art of making real objects from many kinds of substances. It is a physical, sometimes complicated process, requiring many kinds of tools, chemical treatments, solvents, dyes, large equipment, and sometimes furnaces or kilns. It can be as monumental as a mountain, or as small as coin. Since sculpture exists in 3-dimensional space, with many different perspectives, including looking up from below, and down from above, it requires solving multiple compositional problems. Join us for the first part of a history of Human expression with sculpture, from ancient times until the modern era.
