Health & Wellness Speaker Series: Rita La Rosa Loud: Better Health Through Strength Training

Join us at 1:30 pm in the Performance Hall and streaming for a Health and Wellness Talk by Rita La Rosa Loud on Better Health Through Strength Training. Rita La Rosa Loud holds a B.S. in Exercise Physiology with additional education in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training from UMass Boston. She is NASM Certified and is actively involved in the fitness industry for over 35 years. Rita is a Fitness Researcher and Directs the Wayne Westcott, Ph.D. Center for Health and Fitness at Quincy College. During this talk you will learn how strength training is an important activity for older adults to achieve better health and fitness. This presentation will cover how you can attain a desirable body weight, maintain favorable body composition (fat and muscle ratio), recharge metabolism, increase bone density, regulate blood sugar, decrease blood pressure, and enhance mental and emotional health.
