Brookhaven Friends of Music is delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed pianist Joel Sachs, for a concert of twentieth-century works that he has championed around the globe. Founder and conductor of the new-music ensemble Continuum, he has appeared in hundreds of performances in New York and elsewhere in the United States and throughout Europe, Asia, and Latin America. As a soloist, his repertoire ranges from Brahms to Rachmaninoff to Charles Ives, and it is the Sonata No. 1 of Ives that is the highlight of this program, along with selected shorter works by Aaron Copland, Ruth Crawford Seeger, and Henry Cowell. Join us at 3:00 pm in the Performance Hall and streaming.
