Six talented student string players at Project STEP, along with bassist Dr. Ian Saunders and pianist Maryann Han, will perform at 3:00 pm in the Performance Hall and streaming. Project STEP students have played here often, and it will be exciting to have these diverse musicians from 3rd to 10th grade here not on Zoom, but in person. Their program will include pieces by Saint-Saëns, Piazzola, and Paganini, among others. Project STEP, a non-profit located in Boston for 40 years, is a string training education program for young musicians from communities that are historically underrepresented in classical music. Setting the highest standards for their students, teachers provide private lessons in a classical string instrument, alongside music theory, mentoring, and performance opportunities for students in K-12.
