The Brookhaven Friends of Music welcomes back the Zefira Trio, with Meghan Miller (flute) joining Ashima Scripp (cello) and Eleanor Perrone (piano). The program opens with Melodies for Robert, a short piece with soaring melodies reflecting the “heart of the American landscape,” written by Carter Pann in memory of flutist Robert Vincent Jones. Next, Trio for Flute, Cello, and Piano, Op. 45, an early Romantic work in four movements by Louise Farrenc (1804-1875). Finally, two lively movements of Astor Piazzolla’s “The Four Seasons” featuring tango rhythms: Invierno Porteño “Winter in Buenos Aires,” and Primavera Porteña, “Spring in Buenos Aires.” Join us at 3:00 pm in the Performance Hall and streaming.
