The Brookhaven Lecture Committee presents A Conversation with Larry Bacow about Leadership and Higher Education. Join us at 7:30 pm in the Performance Hall and streaming. Larry Bacow stepped down in June 2023 after five years as president of Harvard University. Before that, he had been president of Tufts University, following 24 years on the faculty of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Widely regarded as one of the nation’s pre-eminent higher education leaders, President Bacow devoted his tenure at Harvard to advancing the academic mission and to encouraging interdisciplinary efforts to tackle complex global challenges. These included the creation of the Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability, The Kempner Institute for Natural and Artificial Intelligence, and the Harvard Quantum Initiative. He also guided the university through the challenges of the Covid pandemic. We are delighted that he can join us for a conversation on leadership and higher education.
