Please join us for a talk on Thinking About End of Life at 11:00 am in the Performance Hall and streaming. Christine Bouchard, Director of Resident Health and Cynthia Ayoub, RN, BSN, CHPCA, Executive Director of Hospice and Palliative Care Services for Beth Israel Lahey Health at Home, will present an overview of hospice services at Brookhaven including 1) what is hospice, 2) how is hospice accessed, 3) where can hospice be provided within Brookhaven, and 4) how does Brookhaven and Hospice coordinate hospice care services. In addition, a Christine will review the forms every resident should have in place and tips for discussing this topic with family/friends in advance. Cynthia Ayoub received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Salem State College and is board certified as a Hospice and Palliative Care Administrator. She has been a leader in hospice and palliative care for more than twenty years. She presents often to physicians, nurses, social workers and executives to advance end of life care. Christine Bouchard, Director of Resident Health earned two Bachelor’s Degrees from Indiana University in Psychology and Sociology, and earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston College. She has been a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker working in eldercare for nearly 20 years and has been at Brookhaven for 10 years.
