The STEM Talk, From the Bark of a Tree to Millions of Patients: The Story of Taxol by resident Susan Band Horwitz will be given at 10:30 am in the Performance Hall and streaming. Plants and other living organisms provide us with a significant number of drugs that we use to maintain good health. This presentation will elucidate the development of Taxol (paclitaxel) that has been used to treat millions of patients with ovarian, breast, lung and other malignancies.
