Opera lecturer, Erika Reitshamer returns to speak on L’Elisir d’amore at 2:00 pm in the Performance Hall and streaming. L’elisir d’amore (the Love Potion) is one of Donizetti’s most frequently performed operas. Nemorino, (Rolando Villazón) a naïve village boy, is smitten with Adina (Anna Netrebko), a farm owner. She rejects his declarations of love. Fortunately, Doctor Dulcamara (Ildebrando D’Arcangelo) is on hand with a ‘love potion’ to help him win her heart. A touching love story and hilarious comedy, including the much-loved aria “Una furtiva lagrima.”
