The bus departs at 12:15 pm for a special Let’s Do Lunch Trip to Pátzcuaro Taqueria in Newton owned by the Alvarado family. The patriarch of the family, Joel Alvarado is the Kitchen Supervisor at Brookhaven and his son Brandon Alvarado is the Café & Bistro Supervisor. The restaurant will be celebrating its second anniversary this September. The cuisine is inspired by all the flavors and recipes from Pátzcuaro, Michoacán Mexico, the hometown of Brandon’s mother. She grew up helping out in the family’s taqueria and many of her family members currently have taqueria’s in Mexico as well! Come get a taste of Pátzcuaro style tacos, tasty appetizers, and freshly made margaritas. Approximate return: 1:30 pm. Fee: $5 plus the cost of your lunch choice.
