The bus will depart at 10:15 am for a trip to the Holy Trinity Armenian Church in Cambridge for the Thursday Morning Talk series that benefits Mount Auburn Hospital. This week’s speaker is Jessica Lander on Making Americans: Stories of Historic Struggles, New Ideas, and Inspiration in Education. Weaving together inspiring personal stories, powerful case studies, and a fascinating history of immigrant education in America, Jessica shines a new hopeful light on a perennial question: How does a young immigrant become an American? Jessica has lived and taught in countries as far away as Thailand and Cambodia. She writes an education-focused blog, Chalk Dust, about experiences in and out of the classroom.
