Brookhaven Friends of Music welcomes back a trio of favorite performers: Joy Cline Phinney on piano, Henry Ayanna on violin, and Emmanuel Feldman on cello, at 3:00 pm in the Performance Hall and streaming. Phinney and Feldman open the program with the first movement of Schubert’s Sonata for Arpeggione and Piano in A minor during which Feldman will demonstrate his newly patented Tekstand for cello. Then, Ayanna accompanied by Phinney will showcase his dexterity playing works by Heifetz and Kreisler, after which the program closes with Brahms Trio No. 1 in B major. In this final piece, Brahms includes a broad-themed sonata form, a scherzo with both delicate filigree and fortissimo passages, and an adagio movement followed by an allegro movement using the original theme.
