Speaker for Boston Baroque/Harvard/NY Philharmonic, Laura Prichard will return for a lecture on Native American Music and Dance at 7:30 pm in the Performance Hall and streaming. Native American music has a diverse and fascinating history, documented by early (mostly female) anthropologists and preserved through historic transcriptions, recordings, and modern revivals. Join musicologist Dr. Laura Stanfield Prichard for an exploration of four centuries of music and dance, supported by artifacts and instruments from her family’s extensive collection. She speaks Cherokee and (as a child) lived for three months each with the Havasupai, the Blackfeet, and the Ogala Lakota.
